    AC Controls is seeking an Account Manager (Eastern Virginia)

    Summary

    The Account Manager is an outside sales position focused on evaluating, designing, and specifying solutions for temperature, pressure, level, and flow challenges for customers in a variety of industries.

    Territory Details

    • Territory Location – Eastern VA.
    • Home Location - Richmond, VA area preferable but not required.
    • Travel Requirements – Daily Travel within Region; typically 3-4 days a week. Overnight travel from time to time.

    Responsibilities

    • Interface directly with end users such as plant and building engineers, central utilities operators, and plant operators to determine system requirements and propose solutions to temperature, pressure, level, and flow challenges.
    • Sell across entire AC Controls line sheet.
    • Build productive, profitable and long-lasting customer relationships.
    • Identify and expand client list in assigned territory.
    • Develop sales strategies and plans to meet personal and regional sales targets.
    • Travel throughout assigned territory to meet new prospects and develop existing customers.
    • Continuous focus on technical knowledge and industry research on products supported by AC Controls.
    • Track activities and sales information using in-house CRM software.

    Requirements

    This position will begin as a salaried position, transitioning into a full commission pay plan after becoming established in the territory.     AC Technical Services is seeking a Project Manager

    Summary

    The Project Manager is responsible for managing, implementing, and executing control system projects on time, within budget, and to the customer’s satisfaction. This individual will be responsible for implementing the project per plans and specifications, performing warranty work as needed, and suggesting system improvements and modifications for current customers.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The project manager will be responsible for three main phases of ACTS projects:
    • Project Initiation – manage the transition between sale and project execution, including receiving, reviewing, accepting and understanding the contract, estimates, client goals, and successfully handing off the relationship from sales to project team.
    • Project Planning - establish project scope, refine client requirements and objectives, schedule resources, and hold internal and external kickoff meetings. Develop documented plan for the project and communicate internally and externally.
    • Project Execution – ensure that the designing, procuring, supplying, fabricating/assembling, testing, shipping, installing, and commissioning are completed to satisfy the customer’s requirements.
    Primary areas involved in these phases include the following:
    Design Coordination:
    • Coordinate with ACTS design group to identify and resolve issues with client requirements
    • Participate in design reviews and ensure complete and reviewed design deliverables are communicated to the necessary parties
    • Interface between customer and design group on design feedback
    • Coordinate with design group on change orders execution
    • Manage subcontractors (if necessary).
    Procurement Coordination:
    • Authorizing procurement to issue purchase orders for project materials and services
    • Coordinating with procurement to obtain pricing and delivery for potential change orders and design alternatives
    Fabrication Coordination:
    • Coordinate with procurement/purchasing to ensure on-time delivery from suppliers
    • Monitor assembly shop to ensure quality, conformance to customer specifications and on-time delivery to customer
    • Coordinate resolution of any technical issues with design group
    Testing Coordination (if required):
    • Ensure FATs are completed to specification and in a timely manner
    • Receive and submit complete and reviewed test deliverables to client
    Installation and Commissioning Coordination:
    • Manage the cooperation between design group and service group to review design documents and field work instructions prior to install (e.g., lead install kickoff meeting).
    • Manage customer and onsite staff during install
    • Obtain and provide status on install to key stakeholders
    • Coordinate resolution of technical issues with design group (if required)
    • Coordinate with Design/ Service to complete training
    Project Completion Coordination:
    • Complete project in a professional manner including coordinating with client to confirm all requirements were met per contract
    • Receive and submit complete and reviewed as-left deliverables to client
    • Schedule a wrap-up meeting with internal stakeholders to ensure project folder is up to date and complete
    • Submit O&M manual (if required)
    Assist in sales process including, but not limited to, customer site surveys, development of estimates, preparation of proposals, presentation of proposals, system demonstrations, and other duties as assigned

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Excellent understanding of Chiller Plant Control Systems
    • Excellent understanding of Boiler & Plant Master Control Systems
    • Excellent understanding of Process Control Systems
    • Excellent understanding of Ethernet Network Systems and Interfacing Control Systems to these Networks
    • Excellent understanding of PLC, DCS, Hybrid, and SCADA platforms
    • Proficient in software applications including but not limited to use of Microsoft Windows and Office software, MS Project, AIA Contract Documents, and AutoCAD
    • Excellent knowledge of service procedures
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to relate technical terminology to customers, listen effectively, and solicit input from others

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a related technical field or equivalent experience and training in a related technical field required
    • At least five years related work experience required

    AC Controls Company is seeking a Shop Technician:

    Summary

    The Shop Technician will be assigned to different areas of the shop (panel area, instrument area and panel area) to build various assemblies. Training will be provided to ensure a complete understanding of all primary responsibilities and skills necessary for this role.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform electrical and light mechanical assembly of finished products
    • Perform assembly, repair, setup and calibration of Control Valves, Instrumentation and Control Panels
    • Complete documentation as needed on the company order system as well as in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the day and before the end of each shift
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Ability to pass pre-employment, as well as random, drug screens and background check
    • Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Windows and Office software
    • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, including the proficient and safe use of hand tools
    • Self-starter with an interest in learning new skills
    • Ability to work safely in an environment that uses electrical and pneumatic power sources
    • Ability to work overtime on occasion as needed to fulfill customer orders.
    • Basic comprehension of electrical and mechanical control drawings preferred

      • Quarter turn valve types (Butterfly, Ball, Plug, etc.)

      • Pneumatic/Electric operation of valve actuators and the variety of application/mounting to quarter turn valves
      • Valve seat materials and uses in industry
      • Valve Positioners – Installation and Calibration
      • Analog versus Discrete Control of Valves & Instrumentation
      • 4 to 20 mA signals and their uses
      • HART Communication and use with Smart Devices
      • Pressure Transmitters and Switches – ranges, engineering units, Maximum Allowable Working Pressures, Configuration and Calibration, etc.
      • Remote Diaphragm Seals – uses, application and proper assembly with pressure instruments
      • Tig Welding and Weld Leak Detection
      • Multimeter use for valves, instruments and control panel testing

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Two-year degree in a related technical field or related work experience preferred
    • At least two years prior work experience required
    • Experience with the use of cranes, vises, forklifts and other shop assembly tools preferred
